I’m Geraldine. I am the sole author of Over Heaven’s Hill, which is an Award Winning, Irish Parenting and Lifestyle blog. I won the “Best Writing for an Individual Website” Award at the 2016 Irish Web Awards. I was also shortlisted in the 2017 Irish Blog Awards and a finalist in the same awards for 2016. I also made the shortlist for the 2017 Maternity and Infant Awards
I am in my thirties and mother to a quick witted and fierce 4 year old. We also had baby number two, a beautiful baby girl, born in May 2017.
I have worked for the past 12 years as a Medical Librarian in the Nursing and Midwifery sector, having recently resigned from this position in January 2018 to pursue working from home as a freelance writer and general dogsbody to our two kids.
I am a Writer and Crafter by nature, a Graphic Designer by chance, an all round SciFi nerd and lover of Robots and Steampunk. But most of all I am a wife and a mother, and blissfully happy with my lot.
Being a mother has changed me and my perspective on life. I’m becoming someone I didn’t know I could be and while I’m enjoying the journey, I’m slightly terrified too. I am becoming the new me through parenting
I have a BA (hons) in English Literature and Greek and Roman Civilisation, a PgDip in Information and Library Studies and a Diploma in Sub-Editing and Design.
I am currently broadening my writing horizons and writing for others outside of my blog. I have written for Family Friendly HQ, Mumsonline.ie, Easy Parenting Magazine, Mums & Tots Magazine, Maternity and Infant Magazine, Irish Health Hour and BabyGaga.

Finally, check out Sinéad Feeney, photographer, who snapped the awesome pic of a 9 month old which I use as my Blog Header. Sinéad is an incredible photographer and if you are ever thinking of organising a photo shoot in your own home, I highly recommend her!
