Six Months Bloggerversary and Christmas Giveaway

Six months blogging. If you had told me last Christmas that by the following year, I would have my own website with my own blog, have been nominated and won an award for that blog, be published in three national parenting magazines with blog posts close to my heart and have a following that I am immeasurably grateful for, I probably would have said “Who? Me?” This time last year, blogging was nowhere on my radar.  I knew I wanted to write but I struggled to find an outlet for that writing. I didn’t hesitate in May this year when the idea of blogging about how parenting has changed me wouldn’t leave my mind. Six months on and I’ve made friends and contacts in the blogging world, but more importantly for me, I have found a new passion for writing. So, let’s have a little Giveaway!

Christmas Giveaway

What better way to celebrate my new found passion, my almost obsession with Over Heaven’s Hill, than to have a giveaway and to show all of my amazing followers how much you really mean to me.

Admittedly, I write for myself primarily. It’s oddly cathartic to write about aspects of your life you’re trying to make sense of yourself. And at the end of the day, there is always someone else who has either gone through the same thing or suffered in the same way. After all, it’s good to talk! Blogging is great but knowing you’re being read is even better. Reading comments on the blog is even better again.

It’s been an incredible journey, and opened doors I never knew could be opened. I have met some beautiful bloggers in the real world. People I met on twitter who I never would have met otherwise. We chatted and had coffee together and I’m not talking virtual coffee! Real, hot coffee with sandwiches. I’ve gone to conferences and events to boost my writing, my Blog and my confidence.

I’ve won an award! Sheesh that was an incredible night and still a proud moment for me. To be recognised for my writing has been an absolute highlight of my adult life.

I’ve created relationships with brands, reviewed some awesome products to share with you. I have even created a bond with an amazing local farm who has brought so many beautiful memories for our family.  All because of Over Heaven’s Hill.

Blogging has, in 6 short months, gone from sharing my own experiences, understanding my role as Momma Bear, to having friends and followers who relate to me and what I have to say. And listening to you, my readers, in the comments, on Twitter, on Facebook has been the best experience of all.

And it’s good to share.

Being the season of goodwill and being the type of person who prefers to give than receive, I’m running a celebratory Giveaway over on my Facebook page. So be sure to check out the pinned post and share share share to be in with a chance to win the following:

One lucky person will win all of this! A bumper, happy, thank you for sharing these past six months with me. And for hopefully sticking around and seeing where the next six months take me. Read on to see exactly what each gift is. And remember to like Over Heaven’s Hill on Facebook and like and share the pinned post to enter!

Alice in Wonderland inspired Pocket Watch Necklace

I can’t have a giveaway and not include one of my own pieces of jewellery.  I’ve been dabbling in creating quirky pieces of jewellery since 2012 with a break in between as I got used to Motherhood. One of my favourite things to do is give my jewellery away, either as gifts or on competitions.

I make jewellery for the pieces to be worn so if they’re not sold, well then I’ll just have to give them away, won’t I!

A popular item on my store are the pocket watches. So, it only seems right to include an Alice in Wonderland inspired pocket watch necklace on this giveaway, since I jumped down the blogging rabbit hole to see where this journey would take me. And what a ride it has been.

Our card designs usually begin life as a rough sketch of words about a feeling.  Then colours to support that feeling are added and the whole lot is pulled together to give it the vibe we are looking for.  We hope you like them.

MUM’s Office was conceived by Emma Fletcher in 2006, then a mother of three living in London. Three has now become four and family life gets increasingly busier. With the arrival of her third baby she found that life took on another dimension and something had to be done to bring order to her family’s life. She had to regain control. She had to get organised.

Primarily something was needed to help reduce the scheduling chaos. As a Mum you need to manage a number of schedules and coordinate them all to synchronise, nap times, school runs, after school activities, birthday parties. You need to know who needs to be where, who will be home for dinner, what you need to remember to send in to school next Monday with Freddie!

Most diaries have been designed with one user in mind. When you try to include your activities, your children’s, room for a to do list and the ultimate in home organisation – meal planning, you just run out of space. MUM’s Diary was born.  As with most families MUM’s Office has grown and we now have many siblings for the original MUM’s Diary.

Mums Office

MUM’s Pregnancy & Baby Diary measures 20cm by 15cm with 176 pages.  It has a thin hardback cover with rounded corners, a gusset pocket on the inside back cover, 2 grosgrain ribbons, an elastic strap to hold it all together and a pen loop.  BABY is stamped onto the front cover with lovely silver foil.
