In Conversation With: Queen of Collage

And here we are, at the very last In Conversation With Series for 2016 on Over Heaven’s Hill. I have absolutely loved doing this series, meeting and chatting to so many other Mum’s and Dad’s who are finding that evocative balance on life between work and family life. So many, I have chatted to, have used their creative talents, whether that is making crafts or using their skills as a writer to keep an aspect of their own personality in their parenting lives. In Conversation With will be back in 2017 but under a new format which I’m currently working on. You never know what the future may bring! In the final installement of this series I am speaking to Helena, who writes her blog at Queen of Collage. An accomplished artist, crafter and writer, her blog is one to follow. I especially love her word of the week series which is poignant and thought provoking. Read on to see how Helena managed family life.

How many children do you have?

I have two little girls under two.

Are you a Stay-at-Home Mum, Working Mum, or Work-from-Home Mum?

I’m a stay at home mum but I’d love to find a way of working from home too.

How do you manage your career/blog life around your family life?

It depends. Our holidays allowed for me to schedule posts but otherwise I write while my daughter runs rings round me.

Do you think its easier being a parent now than when you were being raised?

No, I don’t think parenting has ever been easy. Sure there have been medical advancements but there’s never been a manual. Every child is different and so are their parents.

What is your biggest fear as a Mum?

I’m always worried about the health and safety of my children. My eldest currently has a thing for cables!

What is the one thing you would have done differently as a new Mum?

As a new mum I’d love to be able to worry less. Know what to do for meal times and rekindle the love for cooking before the littlies appeared.

What advice would you give other women about pregnancy and parenting?

Pregnancies are all different. What happens to one, doesn’t necessarily happen to another. There’s no manual we are all trying to figure things out.

What are your hopes and dreams for your children?

I hope that they live a fulfilling, happy and healthy life.

What is your favourite way to relax when the kids are in bed and sound asleep?

When the little ones are napping, I tend to enjoy reading other people’s blogs.

Many thanks to Helena for joining me on In Conversation With. You can find Helena at her Blog Queen of Collage, on Facebook, on Twitter, on Instagram, on Pinterest, on Google+, on YouTube and on Bloglovin.
