Fix It With ToyFix – Giveaway

There has been a revolution in our house! First came the rebellion however. It was Momma Bear versus the toys and Momma Bear was losing fast. It was Christmas 2017. Santa had arrived with a sack plentiful of battery warranted toys and everything seemed to break at once. The cordless screwdriver had been misplaced and Momma’s usual “everything in its place” attitude had dispersed since Little Bean arrived. Her tool box aka the wicker basket was a cumbersome mess containing more yarn than tools. What was she to do?

Make excuses and distract the child to some other activity but alas the battle waged on! Toys were losing arms and wings as the oldies were brought out to mingle with the newbies. Momma Bear had an endless list of precious favourites to fix and nothing to fix them with.

There was a hush, a lull, a battery operated cow finally lost its power and suddenly, silence. Was it a truce? Momma Bear should have been happy but the sad, discarded toys showed her that this was not her battle. She needed allies, reinforcements, and then the big guns were brought in.

In the depths of Carlow, Toyfix was invented and Momma Bear was on the winning side after they sent her a Toyfix to end the battle once and for all.

Folks I kid you not! My very true and accurate rendition of the toys in this house is proof that Toyfix is revolutionary! And I have one to giveaway so you too can join the revolution with me.

Vive Le Toyfix!

Who needs Toyfix in their life? We all do! But first let me tell you more about what I think is the most ingenious product on the market for us Momma’s and Papa’s. And then you can enter to win one all for yourself and for every poor, sad, broken but will be loved again, toy in your house!

The magnetic casing and packaging of Toyfix is quite clever. It stacks as a cube and is so neat it will fit anywhere in your house.

Julie Allison O’Brien, the creator of Toyfix, as a mum, knows the likes of my own story. Frantically searching for something, anything to try and fix your kids toys only to be met with a sad and disappointed little face looking up at you as the toy stays broken. But you tried everything. Anyone else attempt using a coin to unscrew a screw? Pointless I know but I can’t be the only one who attempted it even once!

It’s heartbreaking to see your little ones desperate to play with a new toy only for it to break almost as soon as it comes out of the box. Julie had a brainwave and came up with the idea for Toyfix after her little girls bike had a puncture on Christmas day. Where do you get a puncture kit on Christmas day? Exactly!

Her idea of “better to repair than replace” is just what we need considering we are very much a throwaway society. Which is why Toyfix is the perfect solution. With everything you might ever need to get those toys back in shape, it’s truly a unique product that will bring relief to so many of us!

Set up in four sections, Julie has thought of everything you might need. Designed by herself, with the help of the Design Core team in the Institute of Technology Carlow, Toyfix is wrapped up in a hard wearing, magnetic casing which keeps everything safely stored away. The boxing of Toyfix is so clever. It’s neat and compact and portable with cute toy designs on each compartment.

You know how much I love my robots!
Literally everything you need!

I have spent a few hours going through this tool kit and have happily repaired a handful of toys inbetween our teething baby calling for my attention. It’s simply so handy to have everything in one spot. I’ve sewn back on arms (and pricked myself three times in the process – I’m learning!), ive glued body parts together and changed god knows how many batteries! I’ve been in my element, I have to admit and so has Little Miss who has loved learning what all of the tools are and of course sizing herself up with the Mary Poppins measuring tape!

Another badly lit photo from my camera roll which is definitely not instagrammable but proof that little miss is claiming Toyfix as her own!

But dont forget, Toyfix is a genuine tool kit. It can be used for absolutely everything. When we moved into our first apartment forever ago, I would have given anything to have one of these handy. So, remember if you know someone moving house or a college kid taking that first step into student accommodation, how cool would it be for them to have Toyfix with them! It’s a very clever first essentials tool kit and a great learning tool for kids too. Such a clever idea and well thought out too.

Toyfix can be bought directly through their online store and costs €35 (There is currently free shipping until the end of January 2018).

You can follow Toyfix on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram to see what else they are up to.

What do you think? Do you need one of these revolutionary tool kits in your home?

I’m guessing the resounding answer is yes if you’re anything like me and struggle to find exactly what you need when you need it!

Wow, that is such a practical little toolkit, it saddens me to think of all of the waste that comes from quickly breaking toys. I love fixing things, but having the right tools is usually where my problem lies!
