Found out last week I’ve been included on
The 100 Most Inspiring Women of Ireland List of 2019 as part of The Graham Norton Gin Inspiring Awards 2019. Pretty chuffed. Its always nice to be recognised for your work especially when you freelance and don’t have a boss to thank you, congratulate you or praise you for your work.
It doesn’t seem like I hang around my own blog too much anymore but trust me it’s always on my mind. I’ve been one of these buzzy bees or more like an annoying blue bottle bouncing off the walls and windows, trying desperately to find a way out to that fresh air. I can not sit still. My mind is constantly on the go between the kids, the house and my writing. Seven months into freelancing and I’ve discovered a pertinent truth to this career. I need a damn diary. Preferably one with an automatic entry from my brain. Oh yes, I need a telepathic diary.
No, I have not been handed another award for my writing or for the branding of my website. This is not a post about being the brightest and shiniest blogger around. Here is another Blogger Tag and I’ve been happily nominated by the amazing Sinead from Shinners and the Brood to open up, delve deep and share an insight into my life, my personality and my family for you, my lovely readers. I quite like taking part in Blogger Tags because it gives me an opportunity to tell you things about myself that may not ordinarily come out in my regular blog posts. Read more to see if I air any dirty laundry but first let me tell you about our crappy weekend with the most patient almost three year old ever!
Between September and November this year, I have four blogging related events to go to. I’m excited and thrilled to be a finalist in the Littlewoods Ireland Blog Awards. I’ll also be at the Irish Bloggers Agency Launch in September, the Women’s Inspire event in October and BloggerConf in November. As you can see, I’m pretty damn serious about blogging. Time to get some business cards! It’s true that if you want to come across as being professional in your field, a business card or two won’t go amiss. Read my five tips for designing business cards that wow, that pop, that make you memorable.
I’ve been blogging a month now! One whole month! Whoop Whoop Holla, Yayy me! Enough hooting my own horn, let me tell you that this has been one big old steep hill of a learning curve… curve? Mountain, no, try, about to erupt volcano! Gigantic slippery glacier! Am I being dramatic? I don’t think so and I’m sure there are a hundred bloggers nodding their heads saying “Oh baby, yep you’re right.” But I’ve uncovered some blogging tips along the way which I’d like to share with you.
